IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Daniel Edward
Favro
May 31, 1951 – October 30, 2025
Daniel Edward Favro
This simple quiet man was called home to the lord on October 30th at the age of 74. Dan was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and longtime resident of Cedar Minnesota.
Dan was born to Francis and Joanne Favro in Racine Wisconsin and at age four the family moved to Neenah WI where he later graduated from St. Patrick's catholic grade school and later Menasha high school.
Growing up the Fox River Valley, Dan was a legend at Doty Park recreation department and the Neenah pool as he was an extremely gifted athletic excelling in most all sports especially swimming, diving, running and archery. Everyone wanted him on their team! Dan also had the unique hobby of raising homing pigeons in his youth having an innate ability to communicate with nature and his love for animals stayed with him throughout his life.
Upon graduation from high school Dan enlisted in U.S. Army and shortly after basic training was deployed to Vietnam where he was a mechanic regularly keeping the chinook helicopters in flight.
Being a man of few words, he did confide in family members; the proudest moments of his life were the birth of his son and serving his country sharing in the camaraderie and fellowship with his brothers in arms.
Upon his returning home from the service, Dan lived for several years in Santa Barbara CA where he met and married Debra Wimmer, the woman of his dreams! Debra also served in the armed forces and was from Little Falls Minnesota and so prompted their move back to the Midwest to put down roots and start a family.
Dan received a degree in the trucking industry and worked for many years driving cross country. He loved his cars and motorcycles especially Harley Davidsons because after all they are built in Wisconsin. There wasn't an engine Dan couldn't fix except those fancy German cars but that didn't stop him from trying.
In his later years Dan spent much of his time gardening, growing vegetables and herbal healing tinctures, he truly was a spiritual man.
Daniel was a loyal and devoted father to his son Jesse who was the apple of his eye. Recently Jesse received his doctorate degree in psychology (pysd). Dan could not be prouder of his son and always said "we finally have a doctor in the family!"
Dan was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of 45 years Debra Wimmer Favro, his father Francis Edward Favro and mother Joanne Herman Favro.
He is survived by his son Dr. Jesse Favro (pysd), sisters Linda Favro Dean and Peggy Favro and brother John J Favro, along with many nieces, nephews, brother and sister in laws and extended family from the Favro Herman and Wimmer families of Minnesota and Wisconsin.
A Christian liturgy for Daniel will be held at St. Patrick's catholic church on Friday November 14th at 11:00 am at St. Patrick's church and cemetery located at 19921 Nightingale St. Oak Grove MN 55011
Directly after the service Daniel will be laid to eternal rest with his wife Debra accompanied by a formal Veteran ceremony and military salute.
Prayers are greatly appreciated, and any condolences or arraignments can be sent to St. Patrick's church.
Dan, there is a void that will not soon be healed. Life is so different without you, we miss you in ways words can not express.
