Clayton Richard Schnitker, age 34, of Minneapolis, died unexpectedly at his home with his fearless feline, Teddy, at his side.

Clay was born on 5/01/1988 in Champlin MN where he lived until he moved to Minneapolis as an adult. Clay was a certified surgical tech and worked in the medical field until he passed. He took pride in his work and enjoyed his coworkers. He was a person with eclectic interests from comedy to politics but loved anything to do with sports most of all. In his youth he played soccer, football and hockey and never lost his passion as a fan. Fantasy football season was his favorite time of year. Clay's friends were also a diverse group in age, interests and more. Clay was a part of a group of men called the "Shoemakers" who met regularly to provide friendship and support for one another. This group meant a lot to Clay, and he valued their counsel, support, and the time they spent together over the past years. Clay loved his family and told us so. We and many others loved him as well and will miss him terribly.

Clay is survived by his mother and father, Michele and Kirk Schnitker; brothers, Kyle (Jackie) Boie and Evan (Diane) Schnitker; and niece and goddaughter Addison Boie.

A Funeral Mass followed by a luncheon will be held at St. Stephen's Church in Anoka on Tuesday, August 16 at 11:00 AM. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11am.
