Obituary

Christine L. Bell, Age 77, of Anoka passed away Thursday, September 30, 2021.

Christine was born May 20, 1944, to Clarence (Butch) and Mildred Sell and grew up in Eagle River, Wisconsin. In young adulthood, she left the Midwest and traveled to California to find work and adventure. She also found a sailor from Kansas, who became her life-long love and "hubby". They returned to the Midwest together and lived in Ramsey, MN. Chris could often be found on sidelines or in bleachers, cheering on her daughters and wearing their team colors - even when attending events for two different teams in the same day! She also cherished her time with her "card club ladies" and that was never about the cards. While she held several jobs in her working life, the jobs of mother to her daughters, and Neena to her grandkids were her most treasured. She did many things well, but none so well as sharing her love and kindness, often through a well-made hot dish, a batch of Snickerdoodles, or a carefully chosen gift. Chris was quick with a smile or a helping hand, as well as a dance step or two whenever Neil Diamond tunes were playing. Her devotion to and worship of the Lord her God carried her through her days to what she considered the greatest gift of peace. Many thanks to the caregivers at Walker Methodist Memory Care in Anoka and Brighton Hospice.

Christine was preceded in death by parents Clarence and Mildred Sell and beloved sister Shelby Griffin.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years Wayne; daughters Susan (Dave) Katzke, Carey (Rob) Lillehaug; grandchildren Nikki and Kylie Katzke, and Logan and Kendall Lillehaug.
