IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charlotte Marie
Swenson
August 4, 1945 – July 1, 2020
Charlotte Marie Swenson, age 74, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 with her husband, both sons and daughter-in-law at her side. Shar was born in Wendover, Utah in 1945 to Phillip and Jane Becotte. She grew up with a military family and lived on various military bases including Alaska. She graduated from Grand Forks High School in 1963. Charlotte was united in marriage to James Swenson on September 12, 1964. They have two sons, Jeffery, born in 1966 and David, born in 1969. Shar was a stay at home mom for many years, then worked at Maple Grove Medical, Lakes Orthodontics, and Ramsey Pharmacy from where she retired. She had a very active life after retirement. She was a member of the lady's golf league at Rum River Hills. She always enjoyed working with committees for the various golf events. Shar had many friends that she loved and always looked forward to lunches and social gatherings with them. She was kind to everyone and was incredibly generous, always putting the needs of others before her own. She was an active shopper and valued the time she could spend shopping, hair and cosmetic appointments etc. with her granddaughters. She also cherished the time that she could spend attending the grandchildren's sporting, dancing, and all of their school activity events. Even though, for the past several years she had a debilitating medical condition, Shar had a passionate love for life. Shar's love for her family was unconditional. As a dedicated Christian, Shar let her faith guide her. She fought a long, hard battle for many years and was tired and ready to go to heaven. Two days before her death she said, "I'm ready for it to be over – I've fought as hard as I can". She is survived by husband, Jim; sons, Jeff and David (Nanette) Swenson; grandchildren, Tony, Molly, Carly, Wesley, Davis and Audrey; sister, Jackie (Dan) Berhow; uncle, Tom (Marie) Becotte; brother-in-law, Tom Sand; nieces, Cari, Kim, Jennie, Amy and Sara; nephews, Brian and Karl; many other loving relatives and friends.
