Grew up in Yates Center, KS, married Esther Lillian Mozingo on 5/22/1955 in Gridley, KS, retired Master Sargent with the USAF and TRW Systems. Preceded in death by wife, Lil; brothers, Richard, John and Judd; parents, Vear and Madeline; grandson, John Philipp. Survived by children, Charles Jr., Barb (Mark) Winczewski, Larry (Kathy), Mary (Bob) Dingman, Laura Leighton, and Tony (Sharon); 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren. Funeral service Saturday, 11 AM at Thurston- DeShaw Funeral Home, 13817 Jay St. NW, Andover. Visitation 1 hour prior to service. Interment will be held in Gridley, KS, July 2014.
