Charlene "Char" Mae (Loveland) Beyel, 75 of Anoka, MN, passed away peacefully at
3:36 a.m. on Wednesday March 12, 2025 at Mercy Hospital. She was born on January
8, 1950 in Duluth, MN to Lorraine and Charles Loveland. She is preceded in death by
her husband Howard "Howie" Beyel, grandson Scott Swan Jr., aunt Dorothy Damberg,
stepson Andy Beyel, and mother Lorraine (Damberg) Loveland.
She is survived by children Jessica Johnson, Erica Johnson, Kathy Beyel(Eric);
daughter-in-law Lynn Beyel; grandchildren Shane Edwards, Donovan Swan, Daniel
Beyel (Alison), Rachel Beyel, Corrina Barlow (Sam), Azrianah Elvine, Cameron Elvine;
five great-grandchildren; close cousin Laurel Long and family; many other relatives and
friends; special friends Jan Foster, and Teresa & Larry Rolf.
Back in the day, Char worked at Cy's Menswear and Uniforms, and Baker Rhodes.
Char was a longtime union employee as an Account Clerk for Minneapolis Public
Schools up to her retirement. She also worked at Northland School of Dance. She
volunteered at Mercy Hospital for several years. She was a longtime member of Family
of God Lutheran Church in Brooklyn Park. Char enjoyed her time bowling in the
Wednesday night leagues at Elsie's Bowling Center in Northeast Minneapolis. She was
also a very avid reader and collector of books.
Char loved supporting and attending her family's activities, whether it was dance,
softball, hockey, basketball, bowling, baseball, or any other hobby they were involved in.
Funeral Service will be held Monday May 12, 2025, 11:00 a.m. at Family of God
Lutheran Church, 8625 Zane Avenue North, Brooklyn Park, MN 55443 (visitation 1
hour prior to service, and luncheon to follow service) with Pastor Paul Burow officiating.
As of this writing, burial/interment will be scheduled at a later date to be held at Fort
Snelling along with a celebration of life gathering after the burial, location to be
determined.
