Obituary

Cesarina Scardigli, age 89 of Andover, passed away on June 7, 2026. She loved her family, traveling, her flowers, lunch and dinner dates with friends, and loved being active through her faith. Cesarina was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years Antonio, her parents, Narciso and Assunta, and her brother Lauro. She is survived by sons Andy (Cathy), Carlo (Angie) and Lucas (Carrie); grandchildren Sara (Matt), Matthew (Christina), Anthony (Lauren), Michael (Kara), Sam (Anna), Jake and Avery, 10 great grandchildren, brother Alfiero, and many loving family and friends.

Cesa was a beloved wife, mother, Nonna and cherished member of our family, church and community. Born in Ponte Buggianese, Italy in 1937, she embarked on an incredible journey to America with her family in 1956 where she went on to build a beautiful life here with Tony. They celebrated their 68th Wedding Anniversary in 2023 just days before his passing.

Cesa dedicated her life to her family. She took immense pride in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and the lasting legacy she created with Tony. She presided over a true Italian household that we are all grateful to have experienced and her passing, along with Tony’s, spells the end of an era. We will do our best to carry that forward because it meant so much to them. She spent countless hours at baseball fields, football fields, basketball courts and soccer fields cheering for and supporting her kids and grandkids.

A deeply religious woman, Cesa spent years volunteering at the church. She was never shy about asking friends of her sons about their religious devotions. A visit to her house left no confusion as to her love of the church, with many statues, pictures, paintings and artifacts sprinkled throughout. She was always willing to engage in spirited discussions on the topic.

Cesa’s love for her family knew no bounds. Her presence in our lives was a blessing and her absence will be deeply felt. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience and above all else, generosity. She loved watching all of her grandchildren when they were kids. A visit to Nonna’s meant lots of talking and lots of food. With Tony, she shared a generosity towards family that is unmatched.

As we gather to celebrate her life, let us hold onto the memories and lessons she imparted. May we find comfort in knowing that Cesa’s spirit will continue to guide and inspire us and forever remind us of the importance of love, family and the pursuit of our dreams.
