Cedric F. Williams III, known by friends as "Butch", passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at the University of Minnesota Fairview, at the age of 70.

Butch was born in Portland, Maine on December 19, 1947.  His family moved to Minnesota and he grew up in Cosmos.  He graduated from Cosmos High School in 1965 and then moved to the Twin Cities for school and work.  He worked for 30 years at Northwest Airlines prior to retirement.  Butch had a love of the simple things in life.  He was happily married to his best friend for almost 49 years, was an outstanding father to three children, and a loving grandfather to four.  He enjoyed being up at the cabin, in the woods, hunting, and fishing.  Butch was the kind of person who would do anything for anybody and ask nothing in return.  He was a soft-spoken man of few words with a witty sense of humor.  He will be remembered by many as a generous man, loving family guy, fan of the outdoors, and an honest, good human being.

Cedric was preceded in death by his parents, Cedric, Jr. and Violet (Hutar); siblings, Beverly, Mary, and Gary.  He is survived by his wife, Dianne (Pietron); children, Jennifer (Rich) Petterson, Ric (Amanda), and Rebecca (Rob) Moser; grandsons, Zach Moser, Matt Moser, Preston Petterson, and Taylor Petterson.

A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, 2005 Branch Avenue, Anoka.  Visitation two hours prior to the service (4:00 - 6:00 p.m.)  Private Interment.
