Cecil E. Smith, Jr., age 80 of Oak Grove, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids.

In addition to his parents, Cecil Smith, Sr. and Luella (Knudson) Smith-Emmons, Cecil was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Smith; infant daughter, Carol Smith; granddaughter, Julie Smith; brothers, Irvin and Clifford Smith; and sister, Delma Bellanger.

He is survived by his second-wife, Patricia Smith; children, Janet (Charles) Rustad, Beverly Smith (Brad), Clifford (Brenda) Smith, Cindy (Tom) Malm, Debbie James (Jim), and David (Brenda) Rono; grandchildren, John (Jessica) Rustad, Brian (Sandy) Rustad, Charles Rustad (Holly), Daniel Rustad (Hannah), Nancy DesJardins (Dan), Amy (Colin) Gustafson, Cheri Smith (Tyas), Crystal Erickson, Barbara (Ryan) Rysdam, Ryan Smith, Brandon Malm (Kristina), Jamie Anderson, Jessie Hesse (Craig), Lonney (Emily) James, David (Bobbie) Rono, and Sarah (Steve) Anderson; 33 great-grandchildren; siblings, Leonard (Joanne) Smith, Sandra Blanchet, Richard Smith, and Charley (Kathy) Smith; also many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, 2005 Branch Avenue, Anoka.  Visitation one hour prior to the service (10:00 – 11:00 a.m.)  Private Interment.
