Manthey, Carl R. age 82, of Bethel, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2013 at the St. Cloud Veteran's Home. Carl retired at the age of 57 from Honeywell after working 35 years. He had worked his way up to a production engineer. He and his beloved wife Joyce drove the Alaskan Highway in a pickup with a camper on the back and continued up the north slope following the pipeline past the Yukon River. Carl loved to fix stuff, he always said he could fix anything but a broken heart. Preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Ethel Manthey; son, Michael; and brother, Donald. Survived by wife, Joyce; sons & daughter, Dan Manthey, Jerry Manthey, David (Debbie) Manthey, Julie (Don) Volkheimer; stepchildren, Stephen Lawrence, Jeffrey (Jodie) Lawrence, Scott (Peggy) Lawrence, Timothy Lawrence, David (Patty) Lawrence and Mary (Mike) Andersen; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brothers, Stanley (Barbara) and Roy; sisters, Delores (Bud) Ranum, Donna (Dick) Kollar and Darlene (Dave) Hults. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday 11 AM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church of Cedar Creek, 19921 Nightingale St. NW, Oak Grove. Interment Thursday 1:45 PM at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Mpls (meet on Lane #2). Visitation one hour prior to Mass at the church only. Memorials preferred to the Disabled American Veterans.
