On November 5, 2025, Bernell Winston Fedje was called home to his Savior at the age of 86. Born on September 6, 1939, to Arnold and Elizabeth Fedje, Bernell lived a life marked by humility, faith, and service.

Bernell's life was a testimony to his belief in God's goodness. He served faithfully in his church as a counselor, teacher, council member, and administrator, always seeking to serve rather than being served. His deep love for Scripture, gentle wisdom, and welcoming spirit encouraged everyone he met.

He devoted his professional life to education and craftsmanship — as a teacher, administrator, and carpenter — shaping minds, building futures, and creating with his hands what reflected the beauty of God's creation.

Bernell's greatest joy was his family. He shared a lifetime of love and adventure with his wife, Marilee, traveling, sailing, and photographing their journeys together. He found delight in his children — Holly (Mark) Waznik, Jay (Laurie) Fedje, and James (Jessica) Fedje — and pride in each of his grandchildren — Carli ( Matthew) Petersen, Christopher (Lauren) Waznik, Noah (Ashley) Fedje, Andrew (Mariah) Fedje, Logan Fedje, and Grace Fedje — and great-grandchildren — Luke and Sophie Petersen, Lena, Elsie, and Arlo Waznik, and Walker Fedje — each of whom knew his laughter and love.

He is survived by his siblings Arliss Fedje and Janise (Fedje) Duncan and preceded in death by his brother Joel Fedje.

A visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. and a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Thurston-DeShaw Funeral Home in Andover.

Bernell's legacy is one of faith, love, and quiet strength — a man whose steady hand and steadfast heart pointed others toward Christ.
