Wiskus, Benjamin Franklin "Ben" age 71 of Anoka. Ben was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He left this world suddenly on September 22, 2022. He was born to Arlon and Stella (Sally) Wiskus on June 24, 1951 in Omaha, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by both his parents. Ben is survived by his beautiful and loving wife, Nancee, all his children, brothers, nieces, nephews and many grandchildren. He was a proud father to five children: Steven (Lisa), Eric (Kristina), Andrew, Blueberry/Blue (Angel), Kaylee (Forrest). Ben grew up with two younger brothers, John (Liz) and Jim (Chris) in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Ben was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School. He continued his education at the University of Northern Iowa, graduating in 1975 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. After receiving his degree, he became an art teacher in Waterloo, IA. Ben was passionate about his art and students. Years later he found himself in Minneapolis where he met the love of his life, Nancee. They built a family together in Fridley before finding their forever home in Anoka. Ben had several passions including art, education, and politics. He devoted much of his time and energy as a caregiver to family members including his mother-in-law, Dorothy and grandson, Phoenix. He will be missed by so many, especially by his ten grandchildren, Jessie, Aviana, Phoenix, Willow, Emily, Issy, Lyla, Aurora, Scarlett and Autumn. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, September 30, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, 2005 Branch Avenue, Anoka. A time of fellowship will be held following the service at the Anoka Legion Edward B. Cutter Post 102, 400 W. Main St. Anoka, from 3-7pm. Food and drinks will be provided.
