Hilmoe, Alexis (Lexie) L. Age 72 of Coon Rapids, MN, passed away Thursday, January 26th, 2023. Lexie was born in 1950 in Tolstoy, South Dakota to Vincent and Mary Bitzer, she was the first of 8 children.

After growing up in Tolstoy and attending Hoven High School, Lexie went on to attend and graduate from Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota, receiving her teaching degree. Following graduation, Lexie was married to Dennis Hilmoe. They initially made their home in Two Rivers, WI and finally settled in Coon Rapids, MN. Here she raised 4 children and worked in education in the Anoka Hennepin School District, focused on reading studies. Her teaching career spanned 33 years.

Lexie enjoyed her time reading, crafting, supporting her 4 children in multiple sports and education, spending time with and mentoring her grandchildren, as well as tending to her expansive garden in the summers where her green thumb was admired by anyone who had the chance to see her flowers. She was a loving wife and mother as well as a great educator and will be missed dearly by all she had a chance to touch in her life.

Lexie's life will be cherished by her husband Dennis Hilmoe of Coon Rapids, MN; 4 children: Sarah (Aaron) Yost of Fairmont, WV, Angie (Charles) Cederstrand of Ramsey, MN, Matt (Nicole) Hilmoe of Ramsey, MN and Gabe (Kelly) Hilmoe of Hawthorn Woods, IL; 8 grandchildren as well as her 7 siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents Vincent and Mary Bitzer.
