IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alden Wayne
Yungner
February 13, 1937 – February 19, 2026
Alden Wayne Yungner passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026, at the age of 89. He was born February 13, 1937, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to John and Annetta (Nelson) Yungner. Alden was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Mary, his parents, brothers William and Dean, and sister Delores Templin. He is survived by his sons Eric (Suzan) of Annandale, Virginia, and Matthew (Natalie) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and four treasured grandchildren—Asher, Grant, Kate, and Gavin.
After graduating from Anoka High School, Alden attended Dunwoody Institute where he obtained a certificate in mechanical drafting. In 1960, Alden was drafted into the Army of the United States where he honorably served two years in the 2nd Missile Battalion, 82nd Artillery Regiment, U.S. Army Europe. He was honorably discharged as a Specialist 5.
In February 1964, Alden met Mary, they married that October and settled in Champlin, Minnesota. Together, they built a life filled with love, spending summers at the cabin that Alden built on Big Sandy Lake, as well as traveling to all their sons’ activities. Alden spent his entire career as a draftsman for tool design, working many years for the Cornelius Company and as a co-owner of Craft Tool & Die, Inc.
Alden loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing with his archery club, friends, brothers, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, and sons where he had a lot of “good experiences.” After retirement he spent countless hours on the deck, enjoying the slower pace of life, talking to neighbors and enjoying visits from their kids and grandkids. Alden was especially proud of and loved visiting his grandchildren in Virginia and Colorado, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Services will be held at First Baptist Church of Anoka, 1235 Park Street, Anoka on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at 10:30 am, with visitation beginning at 9:30 am. Alden will be laid to rest at 2 pm at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery next to his wife of 61 years, Mary.
