Alan L. Monegar, age 63 of St. Francis, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2019 at home.

Alan was born on October 21, 1955 at Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis.  He attended school in Minneapolis and Crystal.

In addition to his father, Clarence, Alan was preceded in death by his brother, Tracy; grandmothers, Minnie Zimmer and Tillie Buker; and many other family members.  He is survived by his mother, Laura Tanchin of Winter Park, FL; uncle and aunt, David and Mona Garthune of Apple Valley, MN; neighbors, Mike and Stephanie Solberg of St. Francis; and many other cousins, relatives and friends.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the HCMC Kidney Center, Kidney Transplant Program, Dr. Peter Schlesinger for his 40 years of care to Alan, Anoka County Home Care, and the Ho Chunk Nation of Black River Falls, WI.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 21 , 2019 at Thurston-DeShaw Funeral Home, 13817 Jay Street NW, Andover.  Visitation one hour prior to service (10-11 AM.)  Private Interment.
