IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Abbigail Lin
Nelson
June 7, 2019 – October 14, 2020
Abbigail Lin Nelson, age 16 months, of Fridley, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Children's Hospital of Minneapolis.
Abbigail had a major heart condition when she was born called Transposition of the Great Arteries. She continued to battle this condition even after several heart surgeries. She loved proving her doctors wrong when they said she wouldn't be able to do something. Even though Abbigail had a poor heart condition, a trach, and was on a ventilator 24/7 with oxygen, her personality shined through by always smiling, laughing, and giving us those sassy looks.
Abbigail was not just our rainbow baby, she was our miracle, our fighter, and our sassy smiley little girl. After everything she has gone through, she still smiled! Her personality was one of a kind. She knew exactly what she wanted and made sure everyone knew it. Abbigail had so many sassy looks and a smile that would light up a room. She loved music, she always kicked her feet and rolled back and forth on her back. When she got excited about something, she would smile from ear to ear and look at you for encouragement. Abbigail and her big sister Lexi (who was 10/11) had an unbelievable bond with each other. When Lexi walked into the room Abbigail would smile. You could tell Abbigail looked up to her sister by the way they interacted with each other.
Abbigail had an amazing group of doctors and nurses (in the hospital and at home) whom without we wouldn't have had this time to get to know our amazing little girl and her sassy personality. Abbigail loved playing music, going for walks outside, and spending time with her family. She loved getting her hair washed and played with, taking her daddy's glasses or hat, and looking at her mommy with of pride. Abbigail's sassy personality and variety of interesting looks will truly be missed. The way she brightened up a room will never be forgotten. The way she looked at people was priceless. Abbigail touched so many hearts in her short life and no one will ever be able to forget it.
Abbigail gained her angel wings on Wednesday October 14, 2020. She is now with her Grandpa Ron and her Great-Grandmas Jan and Iris. She will truly be missed by her parents, Alex Nelson and Chelsea Connolly; her siblings, Lexi and Ryder; her grandparents, Patty Nelson, Kathy and Dan Myos, Mike and Patty Connolly; and her aunts, uncles and cousins, Felicia and Jose Santana and kids and Natalie and Travis Phillips and kids.
Due to COVID, we will be doing a private memorial service for Abbigail with immediate family only. We will be honoring Abbigail in many different ways by giving back in her name. It will take some time for us to do this, but we will continue to fight for Abbigail and kids like her forever. Her battle will forever and always be ours.
Rest in peace our sweet baby girl. We love and miss you!
